Ce cours a r\u00e9ellement chang\u00e9 ma fa\u00e7on de pratiquer. J\u2019ai impressionn\u00e9 les sp\u00e9cialistes du service de soins intensifs et les r\u00e9sidents en ophtalmologie avec qui je travaille. Je crois maintenant offrir de meilleurs services \u00e0 mes patients et j\u2019ai affin\u00e9 plusieurs sph\u00e8res de ma pratique. Aussi, les r\u00e9sidents \u00e9tant avides de ce type d\u2019enseignement, je peux maintenant mieux leur expliquer. Que puis-je dire de plus? Je viens tout juste de terminer la lecture du manuel \u00c9DU 2. Vraiment remarquable\u2026 f\u00e9licitations! J\u2019ai parcouru d\u2019autres manuels traitant du m\u00eame sujet et j\u2019ai consult\u00e9 beaucoup d\u2019articles, de vid\u00e9os, etc. Vous avez fait un travail incroyable pour pr\u00e9senter les points essentiels d\u2019une fa\u00e7on compr\u00e9hensible. didn’t expect my first use of EDE 2 to be on my own kid, but …
Je ne pensais pas faire ma premi\u00e8re \u00c9DU sur mon propre enfant, mais...\n\nMon fils de cinq ans a fait une vilaine chute et s\u2019est inflig\u00e9 une fracture \u00e9piphysaire au radius et au cubitus, avec un d\u00e9placement total de la diaphyse de l\u2019os et un horrible r\u00e9tr\u00e9cissement de deux centim\u00e8tres. L\u2019urgentologue a proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9duction et je me suis occup\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9DU. J\u2019\u00e9tais stup\u00e9fait de voir \u00e0 quel point ce mode d\u2019application permet de r\u00e9aliser une r\u00e9duction pr\u00e9cise. Vraiment anatomique. C\u2019est incroyable que nous ayons eu cette technologie \u00e0 port\u00e9e de la main pendant des ann\u00e9es sans l\u2019utiliser! Mon fils vous en remercie!<\/p>

Quel excellent cours! Je suis ravie d\u2019utiliser les \u00c9DU dans ma pratique (en veillant, bien s\u00fbr, \u00e0 ce qu\u2019un suivi formel appropri\u00e9 ait lieu par la suite).<\/p>

Mes deux journ\u00e9es de travail suivantes se sont articul\u00e9es principalement autour des \u00c9DU : VB avec calculs, \u00e9panchement pleural et pneumothorax non observ\u00e9s avec un CW en position couch\u00e9e, \u00e9choguidage et confirmation pour un cath\u00e9ter difficile \u00e0 introduire, hydron\u00e9phrose l\u00e9g\u00e8re lors d\u2019une colique et AAA \u00e9cart\u00e9, vue parasternale longitudinale d\u00e9j\u00e0 utilis\u00e9e, PVJ, VCI, pose d\u2019un cath\u00e9ter central, etc. chez un patient septique. Je suis d\u00e9finitivement vendu aux \u00c9DU. Merci encore.<\/p>

Je tenais simplement \u00e0 remercier \u00c9DU 2 pour les comp\u00e9tences que j\u2019ai acquises dans le cadre du cours au d\u00e9but 2011. Exemple concret : tard la nuit pass\u00e9e, j\u2019ai vu au DU une sans-abri de 21 ans ayant des ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents d\u2019abus de drogues et d\u2019alcool qui ressentait depuis une journ\u00e9e une douleur aigu\u00eb \u00e0 la hanche gauche, qui \u00e9tait incapable d\u2019y mettre du poids et qui avait de la fi\u00e8vre. Mon \u00c9DU de la hanche m\u2019a permis de voir un important \u00e9panchement, que j\u2019ai identifi\u00e9 avant de r\u00e9aliser avec succ\u00e8s une ponction de plus de 20 ml de liquide synovial purulent. Je lui ai administr\u00e9 des antibiotiques IV et j\u2019ai appel\u00e9 l\u2019orthop\u00e9diste, qui \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s impressionn\u00e9 par les images de l\u2019\u00e9panchement et par le fait que j\u2019aie \u00e9t\u00e9 capable de r\u00e9aliser une arthrocent\u00e8se de l\u2019articulation de la hanche (quelque chose que je n\u2019aurais jamais eu le courage d\u2019essayer avant de suivre le cours \u00c9DU).<\/p>

The emergency physician performed the reduction and I did the EDE. It was wild to see the precision of reduction that the modality made possible. Truely anatomic. Myy 2 shifts since have been a little EDE crazy: +GB with stones, +pleural effusion & pneumo not seen on supine CXR, used to help guide & confirm a difficult catheter, mild hydro in colic & r\/o AAA, already used PSL, JVP, IVC, Central line placement, etc… in a crashing septic patient. Case in point: late last night, saw a 21-year-old homeless woman with a history of drug and alcohol abuse who came to the ED because of a one day history of severe L hip pain, inability to weight bear and fever. My Hip EDE showed a large effusion that I landmarked then successfully tapped for more than 20 mL of purulent synovial fluid. Ordered IV antibiotics and called the Orthopedics consultant who was very impressed by the images of the effusion and the fact that I was able to do an arthrocentesis of the hip joint (something I would have never had the guts to attempt before taking the EDE course).
